How we view God when we’re in a waiting season or tough season says everything about our faith.
We may think to ourselves, “Wow! I’m closer to God than ever. He is truly my rock.” Other times, we may think, “Maybe my faith isn’t as solid as I thought it was. This is really throwing my trust in Jesus for a loop.”
To be honest, I found myself in the “maybe my faith isn’t as solid as I thought it was,” boat yesterday. I found myself saying “God, I took the step of obedience. I went out in faith. What do I do now?!”
God wants our honesty.
He doesn’t need us to put on a front because He already knows what we’re dealing with and what we’re carrying. However, hard times and seasons of waiting should not cause us to question His character, His nature or His goodness.
My husband and some amazing sisters in Christ encouraged me recently to be patient. God doesn’t operate in our time frame.
God’s promises do not arrive in the timing or manner that we think they will!
God is not confined by time and space. His delivery and His plan will be exceedingly more than we could ask, think or imagine. So often, we expect the timing of God’s promise to align with our idea of the perfect timing. We think it will come in a certain form or fashion but if we knew when and how it would come, it would require no faith at all.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8, NIV)
We can rest in knowing that He who started a good work in us will finish it to completion; we are more conquerers through Christ Jesus; His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us AND we can consider it all joy when we face trials because God is strengthening our faith!
Thank you Lord that your plan exceeds our expectations. Help us to wait on you.
In Him,
